Easter At Home: Our Best Tips

It’s Easter week, and as we prepare to Easter At Home (#EasterAtHome), just know it doesn’t have to be so bad. Absolute Home Health & Hospice staffers are giving you a healthy dose of positivity and ideas as we head into the holiday. COVID-19 won’t rob us of every good experience, and how we look at events that are deeply important to us and our communities.

Even in the face of a global pandemic, we’ve scrounged up our best tips on how you can make Easter 2020 memorable, using what you already have.

  1. Attend Church Online. Easter service is the most popular church service of the year, with nearly 50% of Americans attending. This year, you can still plan to attend, at home. For weeks, our churches and religious organizations have been perfecting (working out the kinks, ahem!) how they migrate a physical experience into an online one. Look for these experiences and participate.

  2. Put on Your Sunday’s Best. Take Photos (and post them)! Believe it or not, this Easter is one for the books. Your children will tell their grandchildren about COVID-19, and all of the sacrifices the world made to flatten the curve. Document the experience on Easter. Dress it up, create a mini photoshoot and loads of memories. Besides the memories you’ll create, dressing up could be a nice change of pace. Swap out the sweat pants for a dress or a suit.

  3. Bring on the Easter Activities. Have an Easter Egg Hunt in your backyard, or house. Bake Easter-themed cookies, and color eggs. Share the story of Easter, or recount your own Easter memories from years’ past. See where we’re going here? Easter doesn’t have to amount to a physical location, it’s in our hearts.

  4. Host a Formal Dinner (for immediate family members). Whether you’re keeping your traditions or making new ones, add a bit of formality to your dinner. If you normally break out the fine China dinnerware, continue that this year. Maybe you’d like to support a local restaurant with carryout or delivery? There are a variety of establishments that are ready to serve you and your family. See a list here
